Montana Meets the World.
UNA Montana connects our state’s values—environmental stewardship, Indigenous rights, community resilience—to global action.
UNA Montana connects our state’s values—environmental stewardship, Indigenous rights, community resilience—to global action.
UNA Montana meets each month for our regular chapter meetings, held in person and via hybrid access so members across the state can join. Additionally each month, we host events and socials, also offered in a hybrid format, creating space for connection, conversation, and community engagement. Join us as we bring global action and dialogue to Big Sky Country—whether in the room or online.

When I first began working alongside the United Nations, I was deeply moved by the scale of its mission—and by how often global challenges mirrored the ones we face here in Montana: fairness, security, compassion, and the need to listen to one another. I saw in the UN not a distant institution, but a living reflection of the values we hold close—cooperation, courage, and care for our neighbors.
Founding the United Nations Association of Montana became, for me, a personal duty assignment—a calling to bring those global conversations back home. Montana has a history of principled leadership and an independent spirit that belongs in the global dialogue. Through UNA Montana, we’re creating a space where local voices can connect to international action, where education leads to understanding, and where empathy becomes a form of diplomacy.
This is more than an organization—it’s a bridge between the mountains and the wider world. Together, we are proving that global citizenship begins in our own communities.
