Who We Are
A community of Montanans committed to the principles of the United Nations — building bridges between our state and the world.
A Personal Duty Assignment
When I first began working alongside the United Nations, I was deeply moved by the scale of its mission — and by how often global challenges mirrored the ones we face here in Montana: fairness, security, compassion, and the need to listen to one another.
I saw in the UN not a distant institution, but a living reflection of the values we hold close — cooperation, courage, and care for our neighbors. Founding the United Nations Association of Montana became, for me, a personal duty assignment — a calling to bring those global conversations back home.
Montana has a history of principled leadership and an independent spirit that belongs in the global dialogue. Through UNA Montana, we're creating a space where local voices can connect to international action, where education leads to understanding, and where empathy becomes a form of diplomacy.
"This is more than an organization — it's a bridge between the mountains and the wider world. Together, we are proving that global citizenship begins in our own communities."
Whether you are a student discovering international affairs for the first time, a professional who wants to apply your skills to global challenges, or simply someone who believes the world can be better — you have a place here. I invite you to join us.
